EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a current/valid Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist Teaching credential, or a 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit. Please note: If you were educated outside of the US, you must have your foreign transcripts evaluated by an approved agency. The evaluated summary must state you have completed high school, and if applicable, any college degrees held. For a list of approved agencies click here. Experience: One year (or more) experience with at-risk-youth, either through work, volunteer, or personal experience.           THE POSITION The Santa Clara County Office of Education is now accepting applications for Substitute Teacher - Alternative Education position. The Substitute Teacher - Alternative Education works at multiple sites using specialized techniques to provide instruction to students who have been unable to succeed in established elementary, middle, and high schools and/or continuation schools, as well as individuals and groups of students who have been assigned to court schools. This may be in a variety of educational settings which may include juvenile hall, independent study, community schools, or other Alternative Education programs. Substitute Teacher - Alternative Education is an on-call, part time, temporary position.
