Job Summary

Job Summary

A Community School is a “whole-child” improvement strategy where the local educational agency (LEA) works closely with teachers, students, and families. Under the direction of site administration and coordinated by the Director of Student Services - Equity, Access, Outreach, Innovation & Community Schools, the Community Schools Program Specialist represents the District and serves as a liaison between the district, families, and community agencies; performs a variety of specialized and sophisticated communication responsibilities, school-based therapy, guidance services, exercises a degree of self-direction and independence; provides case management and outreach to our families residing in motels, hotels, and other living situations to support and link to community resources; and performs other related work as required.

Requirements / Qualifications

*Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with PPS Credential in School Social Work or School Counseling OR *Master in Social Work and registered with the State as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) with PPS Credential in School Social Work or School Counseling *Experience working with behavioral health programs as a BBS trainee or student practicum intern, including two years of experience providing clinical supervision (only applies to LCSWs) *Prefer a minimum of two years of clinical experience providing therapy involving work with at-risk youth and families in school-based and/or school-related mental health programs. *Experience working with community services and social work organizations *Experience working in educational settings and challenging classroom or school behaviors

The district consists of 5 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 continuation school, 1 four-year high school and 1 adult school.
