Job Summary

Kepler Neighborhood School is seeking an English Language teacher and Interventionist for our small EL population. Under appropriate supervision, employee will work with teachers to assist students individually or in a small group. The EL teacher will support students in the classroom gaining English Language skills. Duties & Responsibilities: • Provide special direction to students who have been given an Individualized Education Program (I.E.P.). • Work with parents and classroom teachers, intervention teachers, Director of Student Services. • Attend to the social, personal, and academic needs of students who have been identified as at-risk of failing. • Must have strong communication skills and the ability to relate to a diverse student constituency are important skills, in this job. • Provides detailed documentation of student progress and develops supplementary education that serves as a companion to the general curriculum. • Assessment of student potential and recommendations for further services is a regular duty of an intervention teacher. • Identify students who are in need of additional assistance or recommended for special education services.

Requirements / Qualifications

Associates Degree, Bachelor preferred, Sub Permit and one year of increasingly responsible experience in Teacher Intervention or Intern program for an educational institution or equivalent. An internship will provide hands-on experience in the classroom. After completing your coursework and internship, you will need to pass a state licensing exam.

AA or BA Degree and Transcripts TB Test CPR and First Aid Certification
