Job Summary
Job Summary
The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking initiative minded individuals with strong relationship building skills to apply for the Head Start Governance and Parent Development Consultant position. Under general direction, the Head Start Governance and Parent Development Consultant supports the development and implementation of all Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Head Start and Early Learning (HSEL) Governance system’s policies, procedures, and activities to ensure an effective and compliant Governance system for HSEL and its contracted delegate agencies; develops, coordinates, implements, supports, and evaluates programs and activities that promote parent education, family engagement, and community involvement for HSEL and its delegate agencies; provides technical and evaluative consultation to the LACOE Head Start grantee program and contracted delegate agencies to ensure the comprehensive oversight in program governance, parent involvement, parent development, and community family partnership.
Requirements / Qualifications
Required Education and Experience Education: A bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences, business administration, public administration, or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification, from an institution of higher learning recognized by the Council of Higher Education. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Experience: Four years of experience in a social services setting, including at least three years of experience in administering or coordinating governance systems and parent involvement in a Head Start program or similar early childhood education agency providing services to low income families. Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Hybrid remote schedules may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE may require employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
