Job Description / Essential Elements:    Print   
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent and the administration/leadership of each site administrator, while performing services at the school site, provides psychological services including, but not limited to, assessment, intervention, and consultation to meet the education needs of pupils. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provides leadership to develop, screen, and identify programs and services for pupils in special education. 2. Provide assessment, including appropriate diagnostic psycho-educational evaluations of individual children for education placement. 3. Arrange and participate in group and/or individual conferences with parents, teachers, administrators, and other personnel. 4. Prepare confidential written reports of educational and psychological finding and interprets individual diagnostic studies to parents, teachers, administrators and other personnel directly concerned with the child. 5. Support within the school, non-school community based therapeutic and remedial efforts. 6. Provide educational recommendations for pupil placement and individual educational plans. Other Duties and Responsibilities 7. Consult with other agencies, school districts, psychologists, psychiatrists, and physicians for the purpose of correlating all available information regarding individual cases. 8. Participate in staff meetings, community mental health services meetings, and other community groups upon request. 9. Maintain confidential records of referred children and adhere to the ethics of confidentiality. 10. Maintain and improve professional competence through participation in inservice education provided by the district and/or professional organizations. 11. Provide other services and duties as needed and assigned.

Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential Required with School Psychology authorization. This is a 1.0 FTE position with 200 work days.
