APEX Math/ Science Teacher- STRS mandatory enrollment- In-person required. GATEWAY COLLEGE AND CAREER ACADEMY SCOPE OF WORK –TEACHER: VIRTUAL PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR MATH/SCIENCE GCCA MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of Gateway College and Career Academy is to provide learners who are not on track to graduate with the opportunity to complete high school and achieve success within a supportive college community. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Credential: a. Valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service at the proper grade level and/or subject area. b. CLAD Certification completed or in progress. c. Master’s Degree in Education, or related field preferred. Degree must be from an accredited institution. Experience: a. At least two years classroom experience teaching at the secondary level required. b. At least three years professional development experience. Minimum Qualifications (Instructor): a. Demonstrated experience developing curriculum. b. Ability to integrate curriculum with experiential teaching methods. c. Knowledge of the relationship among curriculum, instruction, assessment and learning theory required. d. Knowledge of Common Core State Standards required along with an understanding of student learning outcomes. e. Familiarity with standardized tests and high-stakes assessment. f. Ability to use technology and media for instructional purposes. g. Ability to supervise large and small groups of students in classroom and virtual settings. Preferred Qualifications: a. Evidence of willingness to: teach at-risk secondary level students in a classroom and small group environment; work with diverse students, including English Learners and low-skilled students. b. Experience in developing and implementing curriculum that is thematic, cross-cultural, project-based, and CCSS-aligned with Depth of Knowledge a primary target. c.
