Job Summary
Job Purpose Statement/s Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services or designee, the Director of Information Services and Technology will plan, organize, coordinate, manage and support the mission and goals of the District. This includes the planning, implementation, management and maintenance of all applications, infrastructure, security, networks, technology training, communications, as well as comprehensive support for the teaching and learning activities of staff and students. Provide management and leadership of the District’s technology. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities that range from strategic and long range planning and implementation of system-wide technology solutions, to providing one-on-one, and group training and support.
Requirements / Qualifications
Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in the area of computer science, information technology, business management or a closely related field • Four years of increasingly responsible technical/data management experience, including one year in an education organization management • Successful experience and leadership in administering a Technology Department • Any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired skills, knowledge, abilities and traits may be considered

The East Whittier City School District provides educational opportunities (transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, including special education) for approximately 7,900 children. The District employs approximately 1,075 teachers, administrators and support staff. We have 13 schools which operate on a traditional school year schedule.
