Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Regional Occupational Program (ROP) Manager, the ROP Instructor for Culinary Arts and Foodservice Occupations provides instruction to prepare incarcerated adult students for employment in the Foodservice and Hospitality industry. The Culinary Arts and Foodservice Occupations instructor develops and implements instructional plans to assist students in acquiring skills related to Food and Beverage Production and Preparation.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Possession of a valid California Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (CTE) Teaching Credential authorizing the teaching of subjects related to the foodservice industry -or- proof of enrollment in a program to obtain authorization to teach subjects related to the foodservice industry; • Three (3) years of experience in restaurant occupations of which one (1) year must have been within the last five (5) years of the application deadline; • One (1) year of experience in culinary arts operations; • San Bernardino Food Handlers Card (must be submitted prior to the start of employment). DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience providing instruction in aspects of food preparation and restaurant occupations.
