The Monday through Thursday work week and 148-day contract provide for a work-life balance difficult to match. This regular, full-time teaching position for our 2024-2025 school year is at Kingman Unified School District's Manzanita Elementary School in Kingman, AZ. Ms. Ward the school Principal would like to continue on their path as a premier school, while also striving for more state-level awards! Required Education and Experience Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution A minimum of one year of principal or assistant principal experience A minimum of five years of classroom teaching experience Preferred Education and Experience Experience as a principal in a public school environment Required Certifications/Licenses Valid Standard Professional Principal, Prekindergarten – 12 Certificate through Arizona Department of Education Valid Arizona driver's license Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Plan, direct, or coordinate the academic, administrative, and auxiliary activities of a Kingman Unified School District public preschool, elementary or secondary level school.
Essential Functions

Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations and upkeep of the school facility.
Create or implement school security standards, policies, and procedures that provide for the safety and welfare of students, staff, parents, and visitors.
Respond to emergencies, threats, fire alarms, or intrusion alarms, occurring at the school site, following emergency response procedures.
Evaluate curricula, teaching methods, and programs to determine their effectiveness, efficiency, and use, and to ensure that school activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Observe teaching methods and examine learning materials to evaluate and standardize curricula and teaching techniques, and to determine areas where improvement is needed.
Counsel and provide guidance to students regarding personal, academic, vocational, or behavioral issues.
Collaborate with teachers to develop and maintain curriculum standards, and set performance goals and objectives.
Manage and direct building staff, carrying out such responsibilities in accordance with KUSD policies and applicable laws.
Assign teachers to grade level and/or subjects/sections, and students to classes.
Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate certified and classified staff.
Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities, policies, and student behavioral or learning problems.
Enforce discipline and attendance rules.
Create school improvement plans by using student performance data.
Coordinate in-service training for staff.
Establish and maintain professional, effective relationships with students, staff, parents, parent groups, school volunteers, and outside agencies.
Participate in district-wide activities, in-service training, and committees as appropriate.
Implement policy and procedure changes at the school-level.
Prepare and manage school budget and purchasing in collaboration with the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and/or Finance Director.
