About the Employer

We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. We also offer a home schooling program, adult education courses and other unique programs to fit the needs of all students. Our school district employs approximately 1,100 certificated and nearly 900 classified employees. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.

APPLICATION, SUPPLEMENTAL AND RESUME DEADLINE: FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2023, at 4:30 p.m. Applicants will be notified of the status of their application and testing details within two weeks after the closing.

BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Special Education or designee, perform a variety of specialized duties in the monitoring, analysis and treatment of identified students with behavioral challenges; plan, organize, coordinate to provide supportive consulting services to assist staff and families in the development and implementation of comprehensive behavior intervention plan for selected students; collaborate with faculty, staff and families in the design, development and implementation of strategies, Behavioral Support Plans (BSP’s), Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP’s) and Individualized Educational Programs (IEP’s) Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP’s) to meet the needs of students; train and monitor Para educators with behavior plan implementation. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field and two years’ experience involving the design and implementation of behavior intervention plans and strategies of applying principals of applied behavior analysis (ABA) with school aged children Licenses and other requirements: Valid Behavioral Analyst Certification (desirable). Valid California driver’s license. SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of a competitive application screening for qualifications and experience. An oral interview exam (weighted 100%) will be conducted. The date of the oral panel is to be determined. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
