Job Summary
Job Summary
The Mental Health Counselor provides mental health services and instruction to the staff, students, parent/families to aid in suicide prevention, intervention, and post-intervention. The Mental Health Counselor provides clinical assessment, treatment, consultation to students, parents, and staff. The Mental Health Counselor develops consistent dialogue and motivational relationships with students/parents/families, promotes school policies, and the personalized learning procedures. The incumbent is expected to remain calm under pressure, work cooperatively with team members and others to provide the highest level of service possible and work in accordance with the Guiding Principles of the organization.
Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Education: Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field. -Credentials/Certifications: Current LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC preferred. Also accepted: Current Pupil Personnel Services Credential or associate level licenses (AMFT, ACSW, APCC). -Experience: Three (3) years of experience working with children and adolescents and knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and academic guidance.
