Teacher Residency Program at Golden Charter Academy
Job Summary
Job Summary
What is the Golden Charter Teacher Residency Program? We are now accepting applications for our second cohort of teacher residents to inspire powerful young minds and nurture expert learners that aspire to experience and engage the natural world, both as community ambassadors and global citizens. The vision for Golden Charter Academy (GCA) is to provide an unequaled educational experience for children in grades TK-8th in the City of Fresno. We will prepare them to be successful in high school and beyond, for the university and for the workplace. Our program uses a carefully planned and implemented curriculum that meets or exceeds California academic standards. Highly qualified faculty and staff will model and promote principles of personal character and professional integrity. The Teacher Residency Program is a unique opportunity to earn a Multiple Subject credential and a teaching position for the nation’s first-ever TK-8 zoo school. GCA’s approach to education is centered on environmental education strategies and experiences that will equip students with academic literacy skills in Language Arts, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, and functional literacy skills for communication in everyday life. Golden Charter Academy strives to develop students who are environmentally literate and is committed to providing frequent environmental education experiences. Whether we bring nature into the classroom, take students outside to learn, or find teachable moments on nature walks, environmental education has many benefits for our youth, educators, and local communities. Residents will work side-by-side with a team of Golden Charter Academy mentors across grades TK-8 and be supported by our Fresno Pacific University and other community-based partners. As part of this cohort, you will be teamed with other dynamic credential candidates and, upon successful completion of the program, will be eligible for a permanent teaching position with Golden Charter Academy.
