Job Summary

Under general direction of certificated or classified administrator, provides clinical supervision and direct services to assist students and families with their personal and social problems; assists students and families in understanding the causes of their problems and works with them to modify and change attitudes and behavior to facilitate learning. The class of Licensed Clinical Social Worker works in a school setting to provide clinical supervision of clinical social workers and other employees and deals with students and parents on a professional level. Incumbents supervise or directly provide psycho-therapy to students and parents who have social, truancy, delinquency or other problems which hamper their ability to learn. Education: Earned Master's degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited college or university is required. Experience: Three (3) years of full-time experience working in a social work setting involving school age children is required. Experience supervising employees is highly preferred. SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS A California license in clinical social work (LCSW) is required. Qualifying applicants must have held licensure for at least two (2) years. A valid class 'C' driver's license, proof of valid auto liability insurance is required and the use of a private automobile or alternative means of transportation is necessary to travel around the school community. Bilingual language skills may be required for some positions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Required Document: 1) Transcripts showing completion of a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) 2) Proof of registration with the California Board of Behavioral Science as A Licensed Clinical Social Worker 3) Valid Class 'C' California Driver License 4) Proof of current automobile insurance Please note: applicants who obtained diplomas and degrees outside the United States must have their course units evaluated by a regionally accredited foreign degrees review agency.
