Campus Security Assistants patrol and monitor high school campus to ensure student safety, maintain order and security; assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required
Knowledge of: basic methods of individual and group supervision; basic interests, attitudes and emotional development of the adolescent; skills utilized to maintain positive relationships with students and adults; interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; health and safety regulations.
Ability to: patrol and monitor campus to maintain order and security in a high school setting; assure student compliance with school and District policies and regulations; learn, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures; perform duties with patience, tact, good judgment and composure within established guidelines; learn District organization, operations, policies and objectives; learn to operate a walkie-talkie and use District security code language; understand and follow oral and written directions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others; observe situations and accurately determine an effective course of action; maintain routine records.
Physical Abilities - Walking and standing for extended periods of time; running, hearing and speaking to exchange information; seeing to monitor student activities.
After an offer of employment is made, the selected candidate will be required to pass a physical exam before beginning the assignment. Candidates may be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a condition for employment.

Education / Experience: - Graduation from high school (or equivalent) - SB1626 School Security Office Training certificate - Experience working with high school age students in an organized setting is required This position also requires the following certifications/licenses: - First Aid and CPR certification - Valid California Driver License
