Job Summary

Job Summary

The School-based MTSS Specialist is a certificated non-management position under the direct supervision of the site administrator or designee. The School-based MTSS Specialist is the primary person responsible for coordinating and integrating the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral initiatives within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at the site level. Using the student data management system, the School-based MTSS Specialist will monitor attendance, achievement, and behavioral data across the school, department/grade level, and student populations; track & monitor progress of English learners, students with special needs, and other marginalized groups; monitor data for tiered intervention supports; guide decision-making around diversity, equity, and inclusion; efficiently review student data and evaluate program effectiveness. This position will support site administrators, counselors, interventionists, instructional coaches, and teachers using data-based decision-making to ensure all students have access to and are provided with appropriate support under the CCUSD MTSS structure.

Requirements / Qualifications

Valid multiple-subject, single subject, mild-moderate, or moderate-severe credential authorizing instruction in K-12 classrooms. Valid English Language Learner Authorization and graduate training beyond the Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred). A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience, ability to speak effectively, write clearly, conduct group discussions, and communicate with parents, students, and school personnel. Ability to lead department/grade level teams in data analysis and planning protocols.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such on the confidential data form, which is attached to the job application.
