          The Encinitas Union School District, a K-6 district, is seeking a Farming Assistant. The farming assistant is responsible for supporting all farming operations at Encinitas Union School District’s Farm Lab. Farming tasks will include, but are not limited to, seeding, transplanting, harvesting, composting, bed prep, irrigation placement and repair, weeding, and raised bed support. Additionally, the farming assistant will support general farm maintenance and site grounds work, as needed. The EUSD District Farm Lab is a 10-acre property that houses multiple components that support health and wellness and enviro-literacy. Farm Lab is home to EUSD's certified organic farm that feeds into the nationally recognized farm to school program. The regenerative agriculture practices utilized at Farm Lab earned Farm Lab the Real organic Project Certification. Farm Lab is also home to the DREAMS Campus (Design, Research, Engineering, Art, Math and Science) that provides sustainability education to all EUSD students grades Kinder - 6. Students experience integration of indoor and outdoor education, 4PBL (Project, Place, Problem & Phenomena based learning) rooted in Next Generation Science Standards. NOTE: This posting will be closed based on applicant pool/district needs. Applicants who pass the paper screening will be invited to take the district administered test, performance task and panel interview at a time to be determined. Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; 7:30am - 4:00pm Benefits Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, CalPERS Retirement Salary placement dependent upon experience Successful candidates will be required to pass fingerprint background check, physical and drug screen and provide negative Tuberculin Skin Test result prior to working in Encinitas Union School District.
