Job Summary

Job Summary

The Adult School Principal is directly responsible to the Superintendent; is involved in Adult School recruitment, and responsible for the assignment, orientation, and supervision of teachers; is responsible for curriculum development, annual budget development, record maintenance, collection and expenditure of student body funds, counseling, development of program offerings and the evaluation of their effectiveness and arranging scheduling for day and evening classes. This assignment will be at Culver City Adult School. Culver City Adult School serves approximately 1800 adults annually in the following program areas: ESL, ABE and ASE. The Culver City Adult School is part of the Los Angeles Regional Adult Education Consortium.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum a. Graduate training including Master’s Degree b. Specialized training in administration, supervision, and pupil personnel c. A valid administrative credential for secondary education d. At least two (2) years as a school administrator e. Ability to work all hours of adult education operations, which include 12 months per year, and evening hours. Desired Demonstrated competency as a teacher including successful experience working with other teachers and administrators. Related Experience a. Experience in a leadership capacity in school, community, or youth organizations. b. Active in professional organizations.
