Requirements / Qualifications
Napa Valley Unified School District has a 1.0 FTE position available. Candidates for this position must have a bachelor’s degree and a valid Pupil Personnel Services California credential authorizing service in school counseling. Successful candidates should be able to counsel with students, parents, and teachers individually, or in groups, regarding academic assessment, personal and/or school related problems, respond to teacher/staff concerns about students’ personal, academic, discipline, and/or attendance related issues, provide crisis counseling as needed, and maintain appropriate student records. Candidates need to have experience working with English Learners. Candidates need to be able to work collaboratively with school staff and leadership to understand curriculum & instructional practices, reform initiatives, and work towards closing the achievement gap. The person hired may oversee Student Study Team meetings, 504 Plans, Student Attendance Review Team meetings and coordinate with internal and external agencies to provide additional support services to students.
