Job Summary

The Golden Charter Academy is an innovative start-up charter school that opened in Fresno, CA in August 2021. It is a place-based, science-oriented school that emphasizes environmental stewardship, social justice, and equity. The instructional approach employs Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a strategy to provide successful pathways for student success in all learners. GCA has a formal partnership with the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, where students utilize the zoo as a living, educational laboratory. Under the supervision of the campus administrator, the After School Coordinator will lead and align educational and enrichment programs for students. This role combines leadership, administrative support, and hands-on responsibilities to ensure the successful implementation of the After School Program.

Requirements / Qualifications

Student and Staff Support: • Supervise day-to-day operations and monitor program effectiveness through continuous evaluation • Address student behavior issues through positive interventions to promote safety and achieve program goals. • Supervise and evaluate the performance of program staff and support staff development through training on program protocols and policies.

Data and Accountability Management: • Maintain accurate attendance, enrollment, and program-related data, including daily logs, incident reports, time sheets, and surveys, and submit as required. • Regularly review attendance to ensure accurate signing-in and signing-out, maintaining program compliance. Resource Alignment and Facility Coordination: • Work collaboratively with administration to secure adequate space and resources for all program activities, including special events. • Oversee the maintenance and organization of program equipment and supplies, submitting requests for replacements as needed. • Proficiency in the native language(s) of the local community (strongly preferred). • Strong organizational, planning, and implementation skills. • Effective communication and interaction with diverse groups, including staff, students, and parents. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Minimum of two years’ experience in managing after school or enrichment programs. • Knowledge of California public school laws, policies, and procedures for extended learning programs. • Familiarity with community resources and organizations that support extended learning for students and families. • AA degree preferred; BA preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT • Physical and emotional stamina to perform all responsibilities. • Ability to perform light to medium physical tasks, sit or walk for extended periods, and periodically lift or carry up to 15 pounds (up to 40 pounds with assistance). • Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings.
