The residential outdoor education program, in operation since 1946, is located an hour east of San Diego in the 25,000-acre Cuyamaca Rancho State Park, elevation 4,000 feet. We connect children to science through nature in a weeklong, hands-on outdoor education experience. Our Team is outgoing, hard-working, energetic, and have a genuine desire to make a positive difference in children&rsquo;s lives.</p> <p>SDCOE is recruiting to fill a vacancy for <strong>Registered Nurse, Outdoor Education</strong> in the Outdoor Education Program. Cuyamaca Outdoor School is located in the beautiful, 25,000 acre, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in east San Diego County. Under the direction of the principal oversees, maintains, and supervises the day-to-day operations of the health service program at an assigned outdoor school; performs highly skilled professional nursing services and first aid care to students and staff in an outdoor education school; performs related work.</p> <p>This position is full-time and will offer the classified benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalPERS state retirement system. </p>

This position requires a combination of training and experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities described in job description. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.

Qualifying experience typically includes six (6) months of full-time R.N. experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Credentials

  • A current California Registered Nurse license is required and a copy must be attached to the online application. An original Registered Nurse license must be presented prior to appointment. Once employed, RNs are required to maintain their license.
  • Possession of an American Red Cross CPR and First Aid/AED certificate. Valid California Driver’s License.

The results of this recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list to fill the current vacancies and any future vacancies for the next six months.
