July 21, 2023 CERTIFICATED NOTICE OF VACANCY DISTRICT AVID DIRECTOR - CERTIFICATED HOURLY TEACHER CURRICULUM 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR We are now accepting applications for the following certificated position. Please note that the individual selected will commit to training with AVID at various times throughout the 2023-2024 school year in preparation to serve as the District Director. POSITION(S): District AVID Director - Certificated Hourly Teacher Contract Status: Non-tenured candidates: Probationary 0 Tenured candidates: Maintain their current contracted tenure status REQUIREMENTS: Credential: Valid California teaching credential with an authorization to teacher in grades K-12. CLAD/BCLAD/EL Authorization (Emergency permits are not accepted). Bachelor’s Degree. AVID District Director certification. Valid California Driver’s License. See Job Description for more information. RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicates information about AVID activities to staff and community. Participates in regional AVID training, networking and professional development. Monitors site requirements and program compliance. Coordinates and leads AVID professional development, training, and workshops. Attends AVID tutorials and trainings Uses the AVID Coaching and Certification Instrument (CCI) to help schools ensure fidelity to the AVID systems and grow AVID District-wide. Observes and provides support to AVID Leadership and Administration. Observes and provides support to AVID teachers at each site on a consistent basis. Works with schools to recruit, place and provide education for tutors. Provides support for recruitment, retention, and transition of AVID students. Coordinates the collection and submission of data for AVID. Acts of the liaison between the site team, principal, and Regional/District Director. Oversees the data collection and is responsible for certification of the AVID program. WORK DAYS: Up to 22.5 hours/week not to
