Possession of Master's Degree in MFT, LCSW and valid/current LMFT license issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences; or Doctorate in Clinical Social Work. Additionally, two years of experience providing social/emotional and/or educationally related counseling services independently, or under the supervision of a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences. Alternative Qualification Alternatively, the successful candidate must demonstrate a minimum of four years in a pre-licensure status working in a clinical environment with K-12 school age students and their families as a Therapist. Also, such pre-licensure candidates must demonstrate the ability to document their application for LMFT/LCSW is presently pending before the California State Board of Behavioral Sciences, for a test date. Such applicants must successfully complete the licensure within 18 months of hiring. Candidates seeking this placement in a pre-licensure status must be under the supervision of a Licensed Therapist (LMSW or LMFT) willing to enter into an Independent Contractor status with the Compton Unified School District, with a minimum seven (7) years professional experience. Any costs associated with the licensed supervisor of pre-licensure applicants shall be the personal liability of the applicant. The willingness to serve as the Licensed Supervisor of the pre-licensed applicant must be submitted in writing as an attachment to this job application.
