Job Summary

The School Nurse's purpose is to assess and provide health needs for the students. The School Nurse will develop emergency care and individual health plans with input from parent/guardian and/or physician. This position will comply with the laws relating to student health and provide appropriate care for ill, medically impacted and/or injured students. Job Description
Be a part of the Prep for Success Team as a Part-Time School Nurse supporting the Inland Empire for some centers at Options For Youth High Schools.
Prep for Success is a certified California nonpublic agency providing special education and related services to students with disabilities in public and charter schools. Prep for Success serves students age birth to 22 and services are provided in person, one on one, small group and via teletherapy, depending on the student’s IEP. 
Your experience and time given are meaningful and well appreciated!
This School Nurse role will include hearing and vision screenings on site.

Here is some of what you will be a part of:

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:* 
? Assess the health and developmental status of pupils as part of their special education evaluation 
? Interpret the health and developmental assessments to parents, teachers, administrators, and other professionals directly concerned with the pupil 
? Provide a written report of health and medical findings
? Provide pupils, parents and others with information on community resources 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 
? Ability to organize and present ideas effectively in oral and written form. 
? Ability to interact respectfully with youths and others 
? Flexibility in scheduling 
? Ability to work independently and effectively with multiple individuals and at several sites 
? Willingness to travel to various school locations 
? Ability to make skillful decisions. 
? Ability to work under pressure and meet IEP report timelines. 

Requirements: 

? Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. 
? A valid Registered Nurse License in California. 
? Current Certification in CPR. 
? Must possess a credential with a School Nurse authorization OR be eligible for a School Nurse service credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. 
? A valid Audiometry certification
