Job Summary

St. Emydius Catholic School, located in the city of Lynwood (near Plaza Mexico) serves students in Transitional Kindergarten to Eighth Grade. Our community provides a rigorous and faith-filled Catholic education and form students to become faithful Catholics, active learners, self motivators, and globally aware citizens. We are seeking an experienced, innovative, and passionate Fourth Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate should have a passion for teaching, possess a strong understanding of curriculum content and teaching pedagogy, as well as developmental stages of elementary age students. We seek an educator that will: -Design and implement a comprehensive and differentiated curriculum that is data-based and aligned with California and Common Core State Standards (CCSS). -Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes the development of social-emotional skills, Habits of Mind, and critical thinking. -Use available technology to enhance the students’ learning experiences through Blended Learning. -Utilize hands-on learning to provide age-appropriate and interactive learning experiences. -Track and analyze student progress using a variety of assessment tools and adjust instruction accordingly. -Communicate regularly and effectively with parents to ensure continuity of learning and a collaborative professional culture. -Work collaboratively with the primary and intermediate school teams -Be active in the Catholic Church and in good standing with the church’s moral teaching. -Continually seek growth opportunities that allow innovation to improve student learning. -Participate in and contribute to the life of St. Emydius Catholic School.
