Has fiscal authority within assigned division • In this capacity, supervises development of all division program budgets; approves all division expenditures; monitors all division budgets; ensures sound budget management practices; keeps staff aware of trends and long-term issues regarding budgets. Provides leadership, direction, and guidance for assigned personnel • Motivates staff toward excellence in performance. Uses a system that insures he/she is receiving and imparting information critical to activities/programs. Is accessible to all division staff. Assists personnel in problem solving and decision making. Keeps staff efforts prioritized, focused, and within appropriate timelines. Assigns work tasks in accordance with staffs’ time, workload, and talents. Sets a personal example in following office policies, regulations, and procedures. Supports professional growth and development for staff. Assigns and supervises division personnel • Plans and provides for staffing changes within division and across other divisions. Selects, transfers, and assigns personnel for division. Supervises overall performance of staff to encourage professional and personal development. Evaluates staff according to established Marin County Office of Education procedures. Provides leadership, management, and evaluation of programs within division • Demonstrates knowledge of fiscal and business operations. Establishes and monitors division programs’ direction and priorities. Assesses quality of division programs regularly and sets goals for revision. Coordinates both intra and inter-divisional programs. Responsible for the organization and preparation of basic budget materials used in the preparation of the annual budget; responsible for maintaining sound fiscal controls. Certification & Qualification Desired: • A minimum of 7 years of comprehensive and directly related experience in the field of School Business Services • MBA or CPA desired • CA Administrative Services credential desired
