POSITION: Adult Ed. ESL Instructor FY 2023-24 LOCATION: VALLEY ADULT CAMPUS (21330 Lemon St. Wildomar, CA 92595) HOURS: Part Time-Hourly-10 hrs per Week (9hrs Instruction and 1hr Planning time) DAYS: – 3 days- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday- In-Person Classes- AM and PM positions available SALARY: LEUSD Adult Education Salary Schedule-Hourly Rate: Step I ($46.43) and Step II ($52.08) LENGTH: 10 MONTHS EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Non-Bargaining Unit Position. Not eligible for permanent status or other approved employee fringe benefits. This position is subject to change or cancellation based on the availability of Categorical Adult Funds and Minimum Enrollment. MINIMUM QUALIFACTIONS: • Possess a CA Teacher Credential: English as a Second Language Designated Subject Adult Teaching Credential OR Multiple or Single Subject Teaching Credential with Full EL authorization. • Experience of at least two years teaching ESL Adult classes. • Experience in Online platforms (Zoom, Google, etc). • TESOL certificated preferred. • Bilingual in Spanish Preferred. Job Statement: Valley Adult School is seeking a dynamic instructor to join our ESL team. The instructor will be required to lesson plan for the teaching of the ELP Adult Standards using research-based methodologies/strategies with the goal of preparing adults to become culturally competent and self-sufficient community members. The instructor will work under the guidance of the ESL Program Coordinator selecting materials, designing and implementing lessons for ESL students. Teacher should be prepared to delivery lessons using an online platform or blended delivery model. Teaching Responsibilities: 1. Provides a nurturing environment conducive to learning and language acquisition 2. Prepare lesson plans that reflect alignment with standards and research-based teaching strategies for English Language Learners. 3. Administer initial, progress-monitoring, and post standardized assessments. 4. Apply
