Job Summary
Under general direction of a licensed clinician, provides associate-level clinical services as a member of the school-based mental health and wellness team within Sacramento County’s continuum of care; provides direct mental health and wellness services and case management to students and families; assists in the development and delivery of school-wide mental health and wellness interventions, programs, and trainings; works as part of a care team at a school site and provides support and/or supervision to graduate clinical interns, peer specialists, and peer mentors; performs other related duties as assigned.

If by the application deadline, you do not possess a valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) license or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), you must provide proof of submission of a qualifying application for any of these licenses via attachment of the following (items 1-3) with your application:

1. Evidence of master’s degree:
a. Official transcript showing conferral of the masters, OR
b. Unofficial transcript showing units for conferral. If hired, you must provide official transcript within 90 days of your start date.
NOTE: The degree title and date of conferral must be posted.
2. In State Degree Certification. This document is completed and sent to BBS by the university; you must request a copy of the completed form from the university to submit with your SCOE employment application.
3. Copy of BBS Livescan Receipt

1. Evidence of master’s degree from a social work program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). An applicant with a degree from a program which is a candidate for accreditation by the CSWE is eligible for ASW registration.

b. Unofficial transcript showing units for conferral. If hired, you must provide official transcript within 90 days of your start date.
NOTE: The degree title and date of conferral must be posted.
2. Copy of BBS Livescan Receipt
If hired, you must provide a copy of your license and official degree transcripts within 90 days of your hire date.
Continuing into the 2023-2024 school year, a partnership between the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) and the Sacramento County Department of Health Services (DHS) is breaking ground on an innovative way to augment the outstanding work our school districts do to address children and youth mental health – placing a mental health clinician in every school in the county to work within a continuum of care at the school site, transforming the schools into “Centers of Wellness”. The clinicians will provide direct mental health services, while also working with school staff to integrate Social Emotional and relationship building strategies into the entire school community, transforming the schools into Centers of Wellness for all young people.
