Job Summary
This person will be working with students in an instructional aid capacity. Portions of the day could involve working with special needs students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Plan. They will provide support to the instructional program and assist in the supervision, care and instruction of all students, which could include special needs students, in the classroom; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior during non-classroom time; providing information to appropriate school personnel; and attending IEP meetings as needed, all while maintaining confidentiality. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma At least one of the following: - Two years of college (48 units completed) - A.A. Degree (or higher) - Pass a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction, offered through the Madera County Superintendent of Schools All applicants who qualify for an interview will be required to take a proficiency exam at the time of the interview. This test will cover basic history, science, and grammar, as well as important foundational math through middle school concepts. Some middle school problems, from our curriculum, will also be included.
