MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: ?Collaboration and coordination with special education staff. ?Planning activities that build trust and emotional security, social competency, promotes physical and cognitive development, as well as language devel- opment, while supporting emerging literacy and numeracy skills. ?Assisting with collection and recording of child and family documentation, which is current and accurate. ?Planning an environment that allows for the inclusion of children with special needs and children who speak a home language different than English. ?Providing on-floor supervision of adults while modeling appropriate teaching practices. ?Modeling appropriate adult child relationship building behaviors. ?Assisting with the completion of screenings and assessments on each child for developmental, sensory, and behavioral concerns. ?Utilizing the information obtained from screenings, assessments, parent in- put, and child observations to plan activities that address each child’s indi- vidual needs. ?Implementing a curriculum, this includes experimentation, inquiry, observa- tion, play and exploration, and creative self-expression. ?Implementing activities that build trust and emotional security and social competence, and promote physical and cognitive development as well as language development, and supports emerging literacy and numeracy skills. ?Encouraging family involvement in center activities and family workshops by building a positive relationship with parents/guardians. ?Facilitating positive interpersonal communication between home and center. ?Maintaining and ensuring confidentiality of all child and family records and information.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: ?Education: Baccalaureate (BA) in Early Childhood Education or related degree or an Associate Degree and actively working towards a Baccalaureate degree. ?Experience: 175 days of experience at 3+ hours per day within 4 years. ?Credentials/Permits: Child Development Teacher Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which in- clude 24 units ECE/CD, plus 16 of General Education. ?License: Must have a valid California Driver's license and reliable, insured transportation.
