Job Summary

The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment for IA-Employment Training Specialist. There is currently ONE position open in our Educational Support Services Department. This position is grant funded and will end June 30, 2024; continued funding for the position is contingent on renewal of the grant. Funding is not guaranteed at this time. This is a 30 hour/week, 10 month position. Under direction of the assigned supervisor, perform a variety of supportive tasks in the development of job training sites in the public and private sectors of the community; assist in the placement of special education student workers; facilitate students in the transition from high school to career; and instruct special education student workers in community job training sites.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this classification would typically be acquired through graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate; extensive and demonstrated (paid or volunteer) experience in working with children, with experience in working with special education high school students preferred; or any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledges and abilities.
