Requirements / Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Graduation from high school or its equivalent and two years’ experience in the operation, installation and use of computers preferably in an educational setting. • Coursework in computer technology or training in computer and software support required. • Must have an AA degree or higher, or pass an Assessment Test. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION INCLUDE: • Must have a valid California Driver’s License. • Incumbents in this position are required to keep their technology skills current and up-to-date. • Ability to monitor student activities and provide instructional assistance to students in a classroom and/or computer lab. • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and adults. • Ability to operate, demonstrate and instruct the use of computers and equipment. • Ability to install and maintain computers and peripheral equipment. • Ability to troubleshoot computers and other technology equipment and take appropriate action to assist in service and/or repair. • Knowledge of basic instructional techniques and basic record-keeping. • Knowledge of current computer operating systems, application software packages, and computers used in an instructional environment. • Knowledge of correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. • Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures of minor repair, installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of computers and other technical equipment.
