Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley. MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District. Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the SVCTE Principal, and with appropriate support, the teacher is responsible for instruction, training and career preparation that will prepare the student for entry-level employment in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) industry, specifically in the career pathway of Cybersecurity. The instructor will be responsible for developing student skills, knowledge and attitudes commensurate with the goals of the program and for effectively using materials and equipment to meet goals. Performs other related work as required. This is an exempt position.

Experience: • A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience is desirable, preferably in Career Technical Education and/or Regional Occupational Programs (ROP) • Experience in a public secondary school setting where utilization of required skills, knowledge, and abilities in performing job-related duties and responsibilities is required. • Experience working with industry specific field educational programs, and/or site supervising and managing CTE instructional programs is desired Education and Credentials: • Must possess a valid California Teaching Credential or be able to qualify for one • Must be able to provide copies of credentials as required for the position or provide evidence of qualifying for required credentials with your application materials • A degree in Computer Science recommended • Bachelor’s degree preferred
