Lead Adolescent Teacher The Lead Teacher is responsible for leading the implementation of the instructional program and work in collaboration with other Teachers, and the UMCS community stakeholders to create a child-centered, powerful educational experience for Urban Montessori students. About UMCS Urban Montessori Charter School's mission is to develop self-directed and engaged learners who are academically, socially and emotionally prepared to succeed in any high school. The school is located in Oakland and is open to all children residing in the state of California. We serve a socio-economically, racially and culturally diverse community of children because we believe that all children learn about different backgrounds and perspectives by living and working with people from those backgrounds and perspectives.

Education and/or Experience: - Montessori Adolescent certification and training (with appropriate documentation) preferred - California Multiple Subject credential or ability to obtain an Intern Multiple Subject credential - 3+ years of successful teaching experience in a Montessori classroom in an urban setting preferred
