Job Summary

The Secondary Math teacher will be responsible for teaching four to five sections of Math to middle and high school boarding students from 7:55-12:10 pm Monday through Thursday. Requirements and Responsibilities for Math Teacher: Have a passion for upper-level Math and have the ability to share knowledge in an engaging, progressive manner with students of varying abilities and backgrounds Must be proficient in all Math courses (Algebra 1, Algebra 2/Trig, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics and integrated math courses). Must be proficient with technology and able to utilize our LMS (Canvas) Attend bi-monthly Teacher Meetings on Monday afternoons from 12:15-1:00 pm Hold Office Hours one night per week from 7-9 pm Act as Advisor to a small group of students Conduct Science labs every other Friday morning Other duties as assigned by the Principal Develop supportive, positive relationships with students Maintain communication with parents and residential staff Ensure curriculum and instructional strategies maintain academic rigor Develop hands-on and creative activities Encourage critical thinking and developing higher-order thinking skills Consistent use of differentiation strategies and techniques Participate in staff meetings and maintain consistent and regular reporting Maintain consistent, appropriate classroom discipline The ideal candidate would be an experienced educator who is innovative with the ability to adopt instructional and classroom strategies to a diverse student body from a variety of backgrounds in a setting that puts non-academic stresses on students.
