NurseOPEN RECRUITMENTCURRENT VACANCY: 100%RANGE 52: $8, 376.68 - $10,353.42 Monthly*Applications will be accepted through April 5th, 2023, 6:00 PM*The Long Beach Community College District is seeking a qualified individual for our current opportunity as a Nurse in Student Health Services Department. The incumbent is responsible for providing professional nursing care and health services to District students. Incumbents are responsible for assisting and supporting in managing, supervising, and overseeing the functions of the District's health centers and serving as health educators and advocates for students. Incumbents make independent nursing assessments, diagnoses, and evaluations in the clinic and on campus regarding injuries and illnesses and provide first aid, emergency care, or crisis intervention to students in accordance with state nursing laws and regulations, and District protocols. Duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Duties
GENERAL PURPOSE

Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in nursing or a closely related field; graduation from an accredited nursing program; and at least one year of recent progressively responsible full-time experience as a Registered Nurse; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The following settings apply as appropriate experience such as: ambulatory care, urgent care, emergency room or other acute care setting.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:Current, valid California State license as a Registered Nurse.Current, valid Basic Life Support certification (BLS for Healthcare Professionals through American Heart Association)A valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's vehicle insurance policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Registered Nurse experience in a College Setting
Registered Nurse with experience in urgent/crisis mental health screenings, evaluation and triage
Public Health Nurse license; experience working with diverse populations
Meeting the minimum requirements of the position does not guarantee advancement in the selection process. Candidate qualifications will be assessed to determine those who meet and exceed requirements, and are deemed most competitive amongst the applicant pool to proceed.

An Online Written Test or Oral Panel Interview may be used to assess applicant qualifications. Test parts are determined by the size and competitiveness of the candidate pool.
The qualified candidates will be placed on an unranked list. Seniority points for internal existing LBCC employees and points for Veteran's credit will not be added. The unranked list will be submitted to the hiring authority for consideration.Final interview: TBD
