MMCA is a 315 student, preK-8th grade program located in Rocklin, CA. Recognized as a California Distinguished School, MMCA combines Montessori methodologies and materials with traditional 'public school materials', all within the accountability and framework of the California state standards. Classroom teaching is done within a co-teaching environment (i.e., 2 full-time teachers per classrooms of approximately 34 students) with multiple grade level classrooms (K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6, 7-8). The school is continuing expansion at its campus, located at 1850 Wildcat Blvd. in Rocklin.

MMCA TEACHER
Description
- Provides an educational program for pupils in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or combination thereof, and assists as needed in other school programs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates effective classroom management skills.
- Instruct students in Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Sciences, Practical Life, PE, Character Education, Music, Health, and Technology.
- Provides for pupil motivation through stimulating learning experience and choice.
- Develops appropriate written work plans and utilizes instructional materials in order to adapt the curriculum to the developmental needs of the individual student.
- Maintains written documentation of each student’s progress and abilities.
- Provides weekly lesson plans to the Executive Director (a sample lesson plan follows)
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior conducive to a functional, comfortable, learning atmosphere.
- Creates a functional and attractive environment for learning.
- Administers group tests in accordance with the school-testing program.
- Abides by School policies and administrative regulations.
- Cooperates with other professionals in identifying and meeting the unique needs of pupils.
- Supports staff decisions regarding projects, programs and procedures.
- Communicates effectively with parents regarding pupil progress through a variety of means.
- Increases professional competence through participation in school, district, and self-selected in-service activities.
- Equitably shares in the sponsorship of student activities.
- Attends teacher’s meetings.
- Contributes to constructive relationships between the school and community.
- Performs basic attendance accounting and business services as required.
Education / Training / Experience
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- California Clear multi-subject Credential
- At least (2) years paid work experience within a classroom
- Preferred qualifications:
- Exposure to the Montessori philosophy / methodology
- Montessori Certification for either 6-9 or 9-12
- At least (3) years credentialed experience with Montessori certification
