Job Summary
JOB GOAL/PURPOSE: Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Maintenance, Operations & Facilities, incumbents in this classification clean, disinfect and sanitize classrooms, bathrooms, offices and other school facilities; arrange and set up rooms as requested for meetings, classroom activities and events; and performs other related duties as assigned. The incumbents in this classification provide the school community with safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean places in which to learn, play, and develop which directly support student learning. CUSTODIAN SUBSTITUTE POOL: The school custodian substitute provides temporary custodial services and support in the absence of the regular custodial staff. Specific responsibilities and duties may vary depending on the school site assigned. Hours: Depending on site placement

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous experience as a Custodian desirable. LICENSE(S) REQUIRED: • Possession of a valid California driver's license and remain insurable at the District's standard insurance market rate. Current DMV report. CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING REQUIRED: • Pass the District’s applicable proficiency exam (e.g., written test, oral interview and/or work sample) for the job class with a satisfactory score. • After offer of employment, obtain: o Criminal Justice and FBI Fingerprint Clearance o Negative pre-employment drug screen test at District’s expense o Pre-employment physical exam at District’s expense o Negative TB test result plus periodic post-employment retest as required (currently every four years)
