Job Summary

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District is looking for a fully-qualified, founding Kindergarten Teacher for the 2023-24 Inaugural Dual Immersion (Spanish) program. School Sites: Lunada Bay & Mira Catalina This exciting opportunity will allow us to build a program to cultivate global citizens who become academically and conversationally fluent in Spanish. All curriculum, materials, and conversations are expected to be in Spanish while upholding the CA state standards of instruction. The dual immersion program is a “one- way” model, intended for non-native speakers. This position is specifically for kindergarten at both sites with a 90%- 10% split of Spanish to English ratio. As the teacher of record, you will need to be conversationally and academically fluent in Spanish.

Qualified candidates must hold a valid California Multiple Subject credential with BCLAD (Spanish) authorization.

  • Credential Copy (valid Multiple Subject credential)
  • English Learner Authorization (copy of BCLAD or equivalent bilingual authorization)
  • Letter of Introduction
  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Three recent letters with original signatures)
  • Other (copy of CSET exam)
  • Resume
  • Test Results/Materials (CBEST exam or equivalent)


  • Bilingual Authorization - Spanish (copy must show credential number & current expiration date)

  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential - General Subjects (copy must show credential number & current expiration date)
