Requirements / Qualifications

TK Teacher Requirements: Additional TK Teacher requirement must be met by August 1, 2023 – Any ONE of the options below: 1. At least 24 units in early childhood education, or childhood development, or both 2. Professional experience in a classroom setting with preschool-aged children comparable to the 24 units of education (comparability determined by the local employing agency) 3. Child Development Teacher Permit, or an Early Childhood Education Specialist Credential, issued from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Bachelor's Degree with valid California Teaching Credential authorizing service in assigned grade and subject area is required. Desirable Qualifications: Teaching experience at grade level or subject area; Master's Degree and/or post graduate course work.
