Job Details Job Type Full-time San Jose, CA • Counseling Description Job Summary: The Career Counselor is responsible for counseling students in all aspects of center life, e.g., personal, and social development, vocational and educational training Supervision Received: By the Career Counseling Manager and all work must comply with uniform and defined CSD policies and procedures of the PRH, QAPP and SOPs Duties/Responsibilities: Documents monthly student counseling sessions Provides case management to include Assessment, Coordination, monitoring and documentation of student progress Assesses and evaluates continuously those students assigned to them on both formal and informal levels. Provides assistance to students in continuing their education or entering into additional training; and in connecting with community services necessary for successful transition from school to work Coordinates the career management team and disseminates information to all members, organizes the plan to deliver tailored services Identify and address each student’s personal issues that may be barriers to successful adjustment and participation. Conduct weekly group sessions relevant to supporting student success Submits written student reports and evaluations as needed Participates in the training of all staff, especially in individual and group counseling techniques Participates in monthly session with the Center mental health consultant Account for and document the whereabouts and status of every Job Corps student for each day and time during that student’s enrollment. Accurate submission of student leaves in accordance with PRH exhibit 6-1 Confers with parents and admissions counselors.
