MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN 8 hours-12 months (7 – 4 pm) MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years performing a variety of maintenance work in one or more of the building maintenance trades. 2. Perform a variety of maintenance, repair and construction duties in the maintenance of designated facilities, utilities and equipment including electrical, HVAC and plumbing systems. 3. Assist in assuring a safe environment for students and staff. 4. Assist other maintenance personnel in the performance of a variety of duties related to the building trades. 5. Replace and control devices linked to EMS systems. 6. Maintain and operate intrusion alarm systems. 7. Operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment effectively and safely. 8. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 9. Learn and apply laws, rules, regulations involved in assigned maintenance activities. 10. Understand and follow oral and written directions. 11. Read and understand blueprints and written instructions and perform work according to plans, specifications and instructions. 12. Observe health and safety regulations. 13. Meet schedules and time lines. 14. Maintain routine records. 15. Valid first aid and CPR certificate issued by an authorized agency. 16. Valid Forklift Operator’s certification. 17.
