Requirements / Qualifications
Any combination equivalent to: An Associate’s degree in early childhood development, psychology, speech pathology or equivalent discipline and three years of experience working with, in a classroom environment containing, students with special needs. Requires a valid driver’s license, and first aid card. Must complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training. Requires Registered Behavior Technician Credential

This position is the third and senior level in a career path, requiring advanced specialization in behavioral intervention and the demonstrated knowledge in a variety of behavioral intervention strategies/technologies and behavioral education programming and/or supports. Lead Behavior Interventionist will demonstrate sufficient competency to coach and mentor others that include applied , behavior analysis, discrete trial teaching, overview of autism, analyzing behavior problems and developing effective treatment techniques for reduction of disruptive behavior and teaching appropriate replacement skills as well as augmentative communication technologies, support and may include pivotal response training, social stories, Picture Education Communications Systems (PECS) and Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication – Handicapped Children (TEACCH).
