Under the direction of the Supervisor, Transportation, drives a school bus to transport students safely and efficiently to an assigned location on a designated route; assures safety of students during transport, loading and unloading from buses; performs regular safety inspections. An examination will be given to establish an eligibility list for the position of School Bus Driver in order to fill current and future vacancies. The eligibility list will be effective for one year. These positions are 5-6 hours/day during the school year; 206 paid days. All completed application materials will be reviewed to determine if each applicant meets the stated qualifications for the position. Applicants should take note that possession of the stated qualifications is not necessarily a guarantee of further advancement in the hiring process. Based upon the information provided in the application materials, the most qualified applicants will be invited to a written merit exam. Written Merit Exam: TBD - By invitation only LOCATION: La Mesa-Spring Valley School District, Education Service Center, 4750 Date Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91942 (Phone: 619-668-5700) An eligibility list is then established by ranking candidates according to their overall score in the examination process. The eligibility list generally remains valid for up to one year and appointments are made from this list to fill all vacant positions in that classification.
