Under administrative direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services is responsible to ensure a clean, safe and orderly learning and working environment for staff, students and the public through administration of the maintenance, alteration, repair and cleanliness of facilities, construction and renovation of facilities, grounds and equipment, and administration of purchasing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and security.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building construction, maintenance, and facilities, preferably in a school or government agency; • Three (3) years of experience supervising skilled and unskilled trades in the maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities equipment. Experience with custodial, grounds, or purchasing is desirable. Budget management experience is also desirable; • Experience in the process of service-contract bidding/issuance; • Journeyman or licensed contractor in one or more of the building and maintenance trades, desirable; • Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid Class III California Driver License; • Provide proof of automobile insurability; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance.
