The Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) serves some of Orange County’s most vulnerable student populations and provides support and mandated fiscal oversight to 28 school districts serving more than 600 schools and approximately 475,000 students. Job Summary
Job Summary
OCDE is currently seeking credentialed, Licensed or Associate School Based Mental Health (SBMH) professionals to provide regular individual and group mental health support for students at school sites across the County. SBMH professionals include Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC), or PPS-Credentialed School Counselors/Psychologists. SBMH professionals work with students to support behavioral, and/or social-emotional interventions in collaboration with school-site teams. This position will work under the supervision of the site principal, and collaboratively with, district mental-health teams in order to support students during regular school hours.

Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Two (2) years of experience working with school-age children in a clinical or educational setting. Master's Degree with major course work in education, counseling, behavior management or a related field. LICENCES, CERTIFICATES, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate can be an associate working toward licensure as an LPCC, LCSW or MFT OR A valid license from CA Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) authorizing applicant to perform work as LCSW, LPCC, or MFT.
