Job Summary

Job Summary

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, provide instructional and classroom management supervision to students 0-22 years of age for teachers who are absent for a day or longer periods of time; teach individual(s) or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment; prepare instructional materials, take student attendance and follow regular teacher’s lesson plans to ensure consistency and optimal student learning.

Moderate/Severe classrooms require diapering/feeding. •Substitutes working in Special Education require a pre-placement medical assessment paid for by substitute employee and FCSS, ($58 is the substitute portion of the total cost). •Candidates selected as a Substitute Teacher will be provided an opportunity to also provide services as a Substitute Paraeducator. A separate application will not be required. •When substituting for FCSS you will be primarily serving students in a SPECIAL EDUCATION setting.

  • Credential Copy (Valid CA credential; OR copy of one of the following: 1.) Emergency Substitute Teaching Permit for Prospective Teachers; OR Verification of Submission of Application for the above mentioned permit to the CTC provided by the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools; OR 2.) Copy of 30 Day Substitute Teaching Permit; OR proof of online payment for the permit submitted to the CTC; OR 3) any other document authorizing an individual to work as a Substitute Teacher in California.)
