Job Summary

Grounds: Under general supervision; to provide students with an attractive and safe, natural environment in which to learn in Biggs Unified School District, and perform other assigned duties. Bus Driver: Under direction from an assigned supervisor, be responsible for the operation of a school bus over designated routes.

Graduation from high school or the equivalent. Must possess or obtain through Biggs Unified a valid California School Bus Driver’s License (Class B and Endorsement PS). Must have knowledge of safe driving practices, and provisions of the California Motor Vehicle Code and Education Code that are applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting school children. Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions and the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, principals, teachers, students, community and other personnel.

Must have knowledge of materials and equipment used in grounds care; knowledge of the use of basic mechanical tools in performing minor repairs; ability to lift sixty pounds from ground level to table top level and ability to stay on feet for long periods of time. Must have knowledge of safe driving practices and provisions of the California Motor Vehicle Code and Ed. Code that are applicable to the operation of vehicles in transporting school children.
