An exciting opportunity at a small school in Imperial Beach for students with disabilities! The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is recruiting to fill one (1) full-time vacancy for School Nurse, Special Education School at Friendship School in Imperial Beach, CA. While the majority of time is spent at a specific Special Education School site, periodic travel to other sites may be required in order to perform assigned duties. Under the direction of the School Principal, the School Nurse provides school health and nursing services at a Special Education School. Friendship School, located in Imperial Beach, is a special education school with an award-winning multi-sensory environment and individualized support services. We serve as many as 50 students between the ages of 3 and 22 from southern San Diego County who have multiple severe disabilities with health impairments. We’ve previously earned a Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association, and our school features a variety of sensory equipment to help students learn through all of their senses. Requirements / Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university and successful nursing experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. CREDENTIALS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS Valid California Registered Nurse License as issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing Valid First Aid and CPR Certification issued by an American Red Cross or an American Heart Association-approved program Public Health Certificate (preferred) Valid California School Nurse Services Credential* as issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) or equivalent document must be obtained upon hire. *Note: If you do not possess the required California credentials, you may go to the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing website https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/out-of-state-app for details on meeting California’s requirements. Applicants are responsible for all deadlines, materials, cost of college coursework, and any fees associated obtaining the required credential.
