Job Summary
The Multiple Subject Teacher is employed by John Muir Charter School (JMCS) and is responsible for classroom instruction of young people (age 18-26) participating in the Urban Conservation Corps Inland Empire (UCCIE) Indio program. The teacher will work closely with the UCCIE staff team to integrate the UCCIE’s mission into the classroom. The Multiple Subject teacher will be responsible for assisting students in UCCIE programs to complete their high school diploma and to provide necessary support services to enable participants to be successful. The teacher will assist with enrolling and assessing students to determine the proper course of study that will lead to a high school diploma and prepare them for successful continuation to post-secondary education. This teacher’s primary role will be to instruct students in Multiple Subjects. The teacher reports to the JCMS Regional Director.
Requirements / Qualifications
A current California teaching credential is required, or ability to acquire a Provisional Intern or Short Term Staff Permit while working towards credential. Multiple Subject preferred, or Single Subject in one or more core subject areas. Authorization for Supporting English Language Learners required
