Job Summary
The Leadership and Learning Division has a Central Office Resource Teacher vacancy which is currently funded through the end of the 2022-23 school year. Current probationary and/ or permanent employees shall be excessed from this position at the end of the 2022-23 school year. The main role of this position is to work directly with students and teachers at Kimbrough Elementary, primarily at the 3rd-5th grade level in the areas of literacy. This position will support the implementation of research based reading practices that includes direct small group reading instruction (for at least 80% of their time). Responsibilities include the planning and implementation of effective reading instruction and supporting professional development. Educators selected for this position will receive intensive coaching and ongoing professional development.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have: (1) a valid California Multiple Subjects Credential, (2) experience supporting literacy instruction, (3) experience collaborating with school personnel, AND (4) a minimum of five years recent teaching experience; (5) a Reading Specialist, Reading & Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential, and/or Bilingual, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development Credential (BCLAD) are highly preferred. Credentials must be registered with the California Commission of Teacher Credentialing by the closing date. Applicants must have a valid California driver's license and be prepared to conduct, participate in, and travel to sites, professional development sessions, workshops, and meetings.
